Founder and creative director, Suzy Tuxen begun A Friend of Mine in early 2009. With 15 years of design experience under her belt, she has worked at studios in London and Melbourne, spoken at numerous industry leading events, as well as taught design and typography at RMIT university.

As creative director, Suzy oversees the team and has hands-on involvement in all projects. Suzy is highly considered in her approach to design; weaving craft with strategy to create utterly unique outcomes with broad appeal. Suzy is joined designers Veronica Lee and Michael Precel and studio manager Marco Bastos.

Pattern for Yemen will be an initiative by A Friend of Mine and The Souvenir Society enlisting the help of 15 local and international artists to help raise funds for the crisis in Yemen, one of the largest humanitarian issues currently facing the global community.

The Doctor’s Studio is a boutique medical skin clinic with a positive philosophy to enhance, restore and revive natural beauty.

We began by developing a softly glowing entrance sign and a minimal wayfinding system to welcome visitors. Then to enhance the ambiance of the boutique practice, collaborated with Maker’s Mgmt and architects Russell and George to create a space that felt familiar; like a gallery space of rotating Australian artworks from Artbank.

Print material followed a gentle, tactile approach that featured simple, beautiful typography and luxurious natural paper.

Avoiding a literal approach, we engaged illustrator Stuart McLachlan to create vintage style illustrations celebrating beauty in various forms and ages.
