Founder and creative director, Suzy Tuxen begun A Friend of Mine in early 2009. With 15 years of design experience under her belt, she has worked at studios in London and Melbourne, spoken at numerous industry leading events, as well as taught design and typography at RMIT university.

As creative director, Suzy oversees the team and has hands-on involvement in all projects. Suzy is highly considered in her approach to design; weaving craft with strategy to create utterly unique outcomes with broad appeal. Suzy is joined designers Veronica Lee and Michael Precel and studio manager Marco Bastos.

Pattern for Yemen will be an initiative by A Friend of Mine and The Souvenir Society enlisting the help of 15 local and international artists to help raise funds for the crisis in Yemen, one of the largest humanitarian issues currently facing the global community.

Huxtaburger is a much-loved burger chain serving up American style comfort food to the masses in Melbourne. We designed a book and art directed a photoshoot with cheeky laboratory assistants in 80's style sweaters (referencing the Huxtables in The Cosby Show), researching “the art and science of the perfect burger”.

The front of the book featured a fun pop-up demonstrating the anatomy of the perfect burger.

Spreads inside the book featured illustrated diagrams reminiscent of school textbooks and tied in nicely to the scientific theme.
